Sport plays an important role in our life. It is popular among young and old people. Sport helps people to keep fit, makes them healthy and more organized and better disciplined. Many people do morning exercises, jog in the morning and train in clubs and also take part in sports competitions. Other people like sports too, but they only watch sports games and listen to sports news. They prefer reading interesting stories about sportsmen. But they don't go in for sports. As for me, I like sport very much, but I like sport not only as a sports fan, but also as an athlete. My sport is …. I have been doing it for … years. I train ... times a week.

ON SPORTS
Sport plays an important role in our life. It is popular among young and old people. Sport helps people to keep fit, makes them healthy and more organized and better disciplined. Lots of people are engaged in sports and physical activities in Russia. The system of physical education provides young people as well as adults with broad opportunities for participating in physical activities and sport. Physical education is compulsory subject at secondary and high schools. Particularly gifted children are admitted to local sports boarding schools, which have got all necessary facilities they need. Adults can practice sport at different sections of voluntary sports societies and clubs. The wide range of sports facilities is at their disposal.
You can choose whatever you like either do some activities for leisure or participate in any sport taking part in competitions. In this case you train a lot increasing your load and raising your physical conditions. Thus you make progress that leads to records and you will be able to become a top class athlete. You train intensively and can win the title in your event, but it takes a lot of your energy, strength, will power and years of your life.
Training intensity and training loads can lead to injuries, but high results can not be achieved without increasing the volume of load. Overtraining, fulfilling overload for which you have not prepared, irregular workouts or when an athlete feels under the weather all these lead to injuries. Definitely some sports are traumatic such artistic gymnastics, boxing, wrestling, running, throwing, but it preferably depends on the athlete himself. Considering indoor events such as combat events and some martial arts you usually get injuries because of your own errors in techniques and tactics, your unpreparedness for the contest, or by an accident.
All people who take part in physical activities or sports are under constant medical examination and are provided with the best possible conditions for training and competing. Physicians watch and take care of athlete's health and may interfere in process of training.
But the other way is physical activities for pleasure and recreation. In this case you take part in recreation games, aerobics, jogging, shaping, and tourism and do some training on fitness machines. If you want to keep your body fit you lead the healthy lifestyle, do a lot of health promoting exercises, train on physical fitness machines to develop and strengthen your muscles and shape.
Other people like sports too, but they only watch sports games and listen to sports news. They prefer reading interesting stories about sportsmen. But they don't go in for sports.
